Today I went to the optometrist to have my eyes checked, and to discuss the possibility of contact lenses. In addition to discovering that I have astigmatism in addition to myopia (I didn't know this), I also learned that my eyes are 63 mms (presumably measuring from the centre of each one) apart. Or perhaps 'overhaul' is a better term. I printed off my NaNovel today and set about Post-It noting it to within an inch of its life. I got through eighty pages' worth before I was forced to concede defeat for the time being: this was the result of a combination of the difficulties of Post-It noting on writing that has completely gone off the rails ( Read more... ) -

I'm starting to get a little fuzzy with my typing, but it's only six hundred more words. (Gah.) This is definitely incentive to never get behind again. Tomorrow I'm going to do my writing in the morning. -
Nothing like a maths exam to wring out the brain
That was like a study session multiplied by about a thousand. I couldn't manage more than a thousand words tonight. But I did introduce the main conflict, so further writing can wait. And besides, this is why I got ahead of the word count in the first place -- so I could opt out if things were too much after an exam.
